It may seem to be a small step, b-u-t, our office uses a mountain of sticky post-it notes every month. We are now writing on the front of the note, then, for writing the next one, folding forward the top of the same note. Doing this places the sticky strip in the correct position for also using the back of the post-it note, as if it were the front. Result: the note still sticks, and we use half as much (printed) paper!

It’s about time we saved the trees. The recycled paper towels arrive, and our merchandising team member celebrates the moment.

It’s official. We are no longer buying wasteful plastic utensils thanks to our office manager. Silverware has arrived into our kitchen drawers, and a dish drying rack appeared on the countertop one day to accomodate this new green endeavour.
Two big wins with this purchase: the company saves money and less waste in landfills. Now, if we could only convince the local restaurants to stop giving out free plasticware with lunch take-out orders.

Our inventory control officer was excited to find 100% recycled cardboard boxes from a packaging supplier. Now everything that drop ships from the GreenandMore.com warehouses gets sent in eco-friendly packaging. One more win for the planet!

When the marketing and design teams met with our printer, they asked him to show them all of the recycled paper and soy ink options. They were incredibly surprised that it was the same great quality and no real price difference. And, the new printed materials now boast a green recycling message to spread the word. It’s amazing how easy it is to make small decisions that can reduce waste and save energy.

A cozy corner of our kitchen is dedicated to recycling. It took a few steps for our project manager to get everything organized – such as buying the recycling bins, and recruiting a team of 4 staff volunteers to take recyclables home with them. Now the office recycling program runs itself, and our garbage cans aren’t overflowing – AMEN!
Soon, a recycling company will be taking over the task of emptying the bins, and they will give us spare change which can go towards a charity or anything we chose. Some staff are lobbying for a foosball table, but if the project manager has it her way, it will go towards an environmental non-profit. Even more reason to feel good about not throwing away that water bottle!

Our office manager secretly stopped buying paper and plastic cups, and replaced them with these lovely mugs on a rack. So, now we just need to buy more dish detergent. Coming soon: eco-friendly cleaning supplies!
